Park Forest Aqua Center

Aqua Center Closed for Exciting Renovations This Season

Park Forest, IL – Get ready for an even better aquatic experience! The Park Forest Aqua Center will be closed for the entirety of the 2026 season as we undertake significant renovations to enhance the facility for our community.

We understand that the Aqua Center is a beloved summer destination for many residents, and we appreciate your patience as we work to bring you an improved and revitalized space. These necessary upgrades will ensure the long-term safety, functionality, and enjoyment of the Aqua Center for years to come.

What to Expect:

The Village of Park Forest is advancing key early milestones in the redevelopment of the Park Forest Aqua Center as the project moves from planning into pre-construction. Officials said foundational steps are underway to support the delivery of a modern, safe, and sustainable aquatic facility, including the completion of the request for proposals process for construction manager at risk services. Following a competitive review, Stuckey Construction was selected as the preferred partner and will work with Village staff and the design team to refine costs, develop schedules, and help keep the project within budget.

Additional site work is also progressing, including an ALTA/NSPS land title survey by Baxter-Woodman and completed geotechnical soil borings by Soil and Material Consultants, Inc. The survey provides detailed property data to guide design, while the soil analysis will inform engineering and structural decisions for the new facility. Village officials said these efforts mark a transition into active project development, with continued focus now shifting to detailed design and pre-construction planning for the Aqua Center redevelopment.

We know this closure will be disappointing for those looking forward to summer fun at the Aqua Center. However, we are confident that the end result will be well worth the wait – a modern, safe, and even more enjoyable aquatic facility for everyone in Park Forest.
